The youth have the most powerful weapon, which you should use wisely: the right to vote. The Lok Sabha elections start on April 19.
Step 1: Check your eligibility
Ensure that you`re eligible to vote by having your name on the voter`s list. You can check with the local electoral officer or the Election Commission website.
Step 2: List of Documents You Need
First-time voters will need the following documents as ID proof to vote: Voter ID card, Aadhar card, PAN card, driving license, passport, bank or post office.
Step 3: The Voting Process
Once you have identified yourself on the voter`s list, find your polling station. Verify yourself and get the paperwork done. Go to the voting booth and vote.
Importance of NOTA
If you are not convinced of any candidate running for the government, select the `None of the Above` (NOTA) option. But do not miss out on voting.
No Phone Policy
One important thing to remember for all GenZ: No phones or cameras are allowed inside the voting booth. Leave it at home or hand it to someone before you go in.
