The Boeing Starliner mission, carrying Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore, was supposed to be a week-long test flight to the International Space Station (ISS).

However, due to technical issues like helium leaks and thruster problems, the mission has been extended indefinitely.

The goal of the mission was to validate Starliner`s capabilities and certify it for regular crewed missions to the ISS.

These issues pose a risk, but NASA assures that the astronauts are safe and the spacecraft can return to Earth in an emergency.

While initially planned for 45 days, the mission might be extended to 90 days due to better-than-expected battery life.
