OCTOBER 16,2024

If there's one actress who has raised her performance graph after every movie, it has to be Kajol. Be it romantic movies, action movies, family dramas, or even thrillers, the actress has done it all.

Speaking of romance, Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan are one of the cult classic Bollywood pairs who have redefined the idea of old-school romance.

Karan Johar's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai completes 26 years of its release today on October 16. Amid he same, let's revisit some of Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan's iconic romantic movies that are made for every romance lover.

1. Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLJ)

Of course, this had to top our list. Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan gave a new name to romance in this movie. DDLJ was way ahead of its time. Nobody must have anticipated a woman being liberal and fighting for her love in 1995. Also, the idea of expressing love out loud was far-sighted.

However, these two Bollywood BFFs changed Indian cinema. Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge has been successfully running in Mumbai's Maratha Mandir for over 25 years now.

Simran and Raj's love story is considered a benchmark for the Indian film industry.

2. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Karan Johar's directorial debut brought back SRK and Kajol once again on the big screens. This is where the KJo element was introduced. A movie filled with love, romance, heartbreak, and friendship, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai continues to be an iconic love story with a little twist.

3. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (K3G)

"I don't like jokes!", "I don't like YOU!" If you read this in the typical Rahul and Anjali style, you've passed the big Bollywood fan test. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was an out-and-out family drama filled with romance and comedy.

While Shah Rukh Khan came from a rich and sophisticated Raichand family, Kajol had a free-spirited, middle-class upbringing. Polar opposites fall in love, and the rest is history. K3G gave us all: the iconic Poo character, amazing songs, and some meme-worthy dialogues.

4. My Name Is Khan

While we have only seen the iconic duo romancing each other throughout the movie, My Name Is Khan shows the same with a twist.

The Pathaan actor plays a mentally disabled Muslim man who falls in love with a Mandira (Kajol). What happens when their caste forces them to prove their love for each other?

Both leading actors have done a spectacular job, and the movie went on to have a successful box office run.

5. Dilwale

The 2015 release brought back the OG Bollywood jodi. A little bit of comedy, some major twists, and a pinch of romance made Dilwale for you. This marked Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's last performance as an on-screen couple. We can't wait to see them create magic yet again.
