Atul Parchure Death: CM Eknath Shinde To Arjun Kapoor, Celebs Mourn His Loss

The film industry was taken by shock after learning about Marathi actor Atul Parchure's passing away. The veteran actor breathed his last on Monday, October 14, after battling cancer for quite some time. He was 57.

For the uninitiated, Parchure was a celebrated theater actor and a superstar in the Marathi cinema. He has done some incredible work in Bollywood as well in movies like All The Best, Khatta Meetha, and Kalyug, among others.

Atul Parchure had recovered from cancer and was preparing a healthy recovery to return home. However, sudden complications lead to deterioration in his health, and it was in the last two days that he suffered the most.

Celebs mourn Atul Parchure's death

Many celebrities and politicians took to social media to express their grief as they mourned the actor's sudden demise. His passing away has left the film fraternity in shock, prompting an outpour of tributes from across the industry.

Along with some celebrities, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde also expressed his condolences, calling Parchure's untimely death a great loss.

Shinde took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote in Marathi, "Sometimes making the audience laugh... The untimely death of Atul Parchure. Atul Parchure started his brilliant acting career in children's theater. He left his mark in all three fields of drama, film, and serials."


"Be it plays like Tarun Turk Mhatare Ark, Natigoti... Be it Deshpande's verbal, lyrical comedy, Atul Parchure has added depth to it with his innate qualities. He has played great characters in Marathi and Hindi films as well. Marathi cinema has lost a classic actor. May God give them the strength to bear this sorrow. On behalf of the state government, I pay tribute to him. Om shanti."

Arjun Kapoor also took to his Instagram stories and shared a picture of the late actor.

Along with it, he wrote, "I never had a chance to work with him, but he always seemed to be such a likeable person no matter what role he played. He was taken by cancer despite fighting the disease for many years. May his soul rest in peace."

Marathi actress Supriya Pilgaonkar also took to Instagram and wrote, "Dear friend, it shouldn't have been like this you fought a lot! You have tolerated a lot. You will always be missed. Your silly smile will always be missed. May your soul rest in peace and have the strength to endure the pain of the family."


Atul Parchure's All The Best co-star and actor Sanjay Mishra took to X and shared a nostalgic moment of the two from the movie. His tweet read, 'Dhondu, what was the hurry to leave? Who will I say Just Chill to now? #AtulParchure.'


Atul Parchure's struggles with cancer

In an old talk show, the Narbachi Wadi actor opened up about his diagnosis and shared that the doctor had discovered a 5 cm-long tumor in his liver. However, his health significantly worsened due to misdiagnosis.

"My first procedure after the diagnosis went wrong, affecting my pancreas and leading to various complications. The incorrect treatment actually aggravated my condition. I was unable to walk and struggled to speak clearly. In that state, the doctor advised me to wait for a month and a half."

The actor further revealed how the doctors warned that undergoing surgery could lead to jaundice or extreme liver complications, potentially jeopardizing his life. After soughting proper consultation, he finally received appropriate medication and chemotherapy.

Radio City extends heartfelt condolences to the actor's friends and family. Rest in peace, Atul Parchure. You will be missed.
