Veteran actor Kamal Haasan has thrilled fans by announcing the release date of his upcoming film Thug Life on his 70th birthday, November 7. Directed by Mani Ratnam, this highly anticipated period gangster drama will hit theaters on June 5, 2025. The announcement was paired with an intense teaser and a new poster, giving audiences a glimpse of Kamal Haasan in an exciting new avatar.
Thug Life: Release Date and Teaser Reveal
The makers of Thug Life took to social media to share the big news. Alongside the release date, fans were treated to a 44-second teaser in multiple languages, including Tamil, English, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Sporting long hair and a beard, the teaser showcases Haasan as both a warrior and a contemporary man, hinting at his portrayal of multiple roles in the film. Although the teaser didn't disclose much about the storyline, it was packed with powerful visuals, hinting at the film's gritty and action-packed narrative.Alongside the teaser, a new poster was unveiled showing Kamal Haasan in a rugged, never-seen-before look. The poster also features Silambarasan TR, who is set to play a pivotal role in Thug Life.
