Karan Johar`s Bollywood Action Film Kill to Get a Hollywood Remake Treatment

This weekend marks a significant moment for Indian cinema. The highly anticipated Bollywood action film "Kill," directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and produced by Karan Johar, Guneet Monga, Apoorva Mehta, and Achin Jain, is set to hit theatres on July 5th. But even before its domestic release, "Kill" has garnered international attention, securing a Hollywood remake deal with none other than Chad Stahelski, the director behind the acclaimed action franchise "John Wick."

This partnership between the makers of "Kill" and 87Eleven Entertainment, Stahelski's production company (also responsible for the "John Wick" films), and Lionsgate on board (the distributor for both franchises), signifies a first-of-its-kind theatrical release for a mainstream Hindi film in North America and the UK. "Kill" has already made waves on the international film festival circuit, premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival's Midnight Madness section and being featured at the Tribeca Film Festival.

"Kill": A Gripping Story of Love, Duty, and Daring Action

"Kill" tells the gripping story of Amrit (played by Lakshya), an Indian Army commando, who embarks on a daring mission aboard a New Delhi-bound train. When he learns that his beloved Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) is being forced into an arranged marriage, Amrit springs into action, determined to reunite with her and derail the ceremony.

However, his journey takes an unexpected turn when a gang of armed criminals terrorises the passengers. Amrit, fueled by love and duty, must take on the attackers and save the innocent bystanders. The film is not just a high-octane action ride it also explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the complexities of human relationships.
