In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Karan shed light on their relationship and the reason behind their breakup. "Our romance began on the set of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin," Karan shared. "If you spend so much time with someone, it is natural to develop affection for them, and she is a great actor. She was very chilled out and had a terrific sense of humour, which I found very appealing. It was beautiful while it lasted."

Karan revealed that, despite his feelings, the relationship ultimately ended due to differing priorities. When asked about Mona rejecting his marriage proposal, Karan displayed understanding. "Jassi was a stellar show, and she was a national icon," he explained. "She was rising in her career. At that time, I didn't understand this, but now I do. We suffer when we want other people to be like us. She wanted to focus on her career, and there is nothing wrong with that."

This career focus, however, came at a personal cost for Karan. He admitted to struggling with self-doubt and self-loathing after the breakup. "You go through a lot of self-loathing for the first 4-5 months," he confessed. "Then you gather yourself, which is what you have to do. The pain pricks the side of your mind, and you move ahead and start distracting yourself. I started writing after my breakup with Mona."

While Karan's career continued with projects like the web series "Inside Edge," Mona's career flourished. She went on to star in successful television shows like "Kya Huaa Tera Vaada" and "Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar," and web series "Made in Heaven," as well as films like the Aamir Khan-starrer "3 Idiots" and the recent hit "Munjya." Interestingly, Karan revealed he hasn't met Mona since their split. "She was doing television for some time and went somewhere after that," he said.

Karan and Mona's story serves as a reminder that love stories don't always have fairytale endings. Despite the heartbreak, both actors have found success and continue to entertain audiences in their own ways.
