Kareena Kapoor's last film release was Sujoy Ghosh's murder mystery, Jaane Jaan. The film was released directly on Netflix and also starred Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma. Her performance in the film was appreciated by everyone, and the actress revealed that she loved working on the film, which had a very different feel than most of the films she had done before.

As much as she enjoyed working on the film, she said that she was equally nervous as she acted in the film. The film also marked her OTT debut with the film.

Kareena Kapoor was part of the actor's Roundtable 2023 on Netflix, which is hosted by Rajeev Masand. During the interaction, she revealed, "Coming on to the OTT platform, that was a little nerve-racking. I think it did change the way I was performing. It was as though I was coming onto the screen for the first time. It was like what I felt 24 years ago."

Further, she shared what she felt was the difference between OTT and films. She added, "I was nervous because somehow I feel that TV is more personal. Somebody could be watching you lie down in bed in a comfortable space. You're really up-close and personal, rather than sitting in the cinema munching popcorn, and the screen is there. So, somehow, I feel like that altered my thought a little bit."

She also shared her experience of working with director Sujoy Ghosh. She said, "I always wanted to work with Sujoy (Ghosh), but it was the right kind of script. A thriller would be different for me to do rather than the same."

Kareena Kapoor also starred in the Hansal Mehta directorial, The Buckingham Murders, which is yet to have a theatrical release but has been screened at some international film festivals where it received a lot of accolades.

The Actors Roundtable 2023 was also attended by Sidharth Malhotra, Kajol, Jaideep Ahlawat, Tillotama Shome, and Amruta Subhash.

Jaane Jaan was a murder mystery that was also written by Sujoy Ghosh. It was based on the famous Japanese thriller 'Devotion of Suspect X' by Keigo Higashino.
