Kareena Kapoor and Hansal Mehta`s film Gets Wider Applause at London Film Festival

Continuing on his streak of giving a meaningful piece of work with every film and web series, Hansal Mehta has done it again. This time, he is teaming up with Kareena Kapoor for the upcoming film, The Buckingham Murders.
The film premiered at the 67th BFI London Film Festival and was met with a resounding applause as the audience burst into a standing ovation as the film ended. It is also a special moment for Kareena, as it is her first film as a producer. The Buckingham Murders got selected officially at the BFI London Film Festival 2023.
Director Hansal Mehta was present at the occasion. The film is a mystery thriller on the lines of classic detective fiction created by Agatha Christie. It is a deeply personal story where Kareena plays the detective mother who lost her son and now must find a killer on the loose who has murdered a 10-year-old. The film is written by Aseem Arora, Raghav Raj Kakker, and Kashyap Kapoor.

People who attended the screening of the film were all praising Kareena`s performance and Hansal`s direction, which never leaves a dull moment. Some noted the number of plot twists present in it, which makes it a fulfilling experience.
Speaking more on her character and journey in the film, Kareena Kapoor wrote on her Instagram, "Jas was a character I have been waiting to play for the last 23 years, being a huge fan of the detective series genre... watching everything from Karamchand to Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect to Hercule Poirot in Agatha Christie to Kate Winslet in Mare of Easttown, I was just dying to be that detective woman."
She further spoke about Ekta Kapoor and Hansal: "Ekta, Hansal, and I set off on this journey to make a slightly unconventional film, but a film that is with heart, a bit of a smile, and, oh my god, lots of tears."
She shared some pictures along with this that were clicked during the film`s shoot. Kareena Kapoor looks all sorts of intense as she plays Jas Bhamra.

Noting further about her character, she said, "I do hope Jas hasn’t ended her journey yet, because it’s been a dream to continue this wonderful yet strong woman whose grief is beyond measure but stronger than she knows."
