Khushi Kapoor Shares Nostalgic Picture With Mom Sridevi On Her Birth Anniversary

It was in 2018 when we lost a precious gem of the Indian film industry, Sridevi, whose sudden death shocked the entire nation. August 13 marks her birth anniversary. While everyone misses her, it is the late actress's daughter, Khushi Kapoor, who feels her absence the most.

For the uninitiated, Sridevi married Boney Kapoor in 1996. The couple shares two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi, both of whom are leading actresses. The filmmaker was previously married to Mona Shourie, and they had two children, Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor.

On Sridevi's birth anniversary, Khushi Kapoor shared a nostalgic picture on her Instagram stories, making fans emotional. It is a throwback to her childhood, where the two sisters shared the frame with their mother.

The Archies actress took to social media and shared a rather adorable blast from the past as she remembered her mother. In the picture, she can be seen posing with Janhvi and Sridevi.

The little Khushi looks rather surprised with short, pixie hair, while the Dhadak actress seemed to have fun as she had a goofy face on with her tongue out. Janhvi can be seen sporting braids while Sridevi was posing with a sweet smile.

The picture was a throwback to their childhood, where the English Vinglish actress was a young mother. Khushi Kapoor seems to have framed this sweet memory that will always remind her of the late actress.

It was on the latest season of Koffee With Karan where the Kapoor sisters opened up about the day when they received the news of Sridevi's sudden death.

Opening up for the first time about her mom passing, Khushi Kapoor said, "It took me a while, when it happened, to kind of accept it. It did suddenly hit me after a while. I was a bit confused, but I had Janhvi and Dad (Boney Kapoor)."

Janhvi Kapoor recalled the saddening time and said, "I remember when I got the call, I was in my room, and I could hear wailing from Khushi's room. I barged into her room, howling and crying. I do remember she looked at me. The minute she looked at me..."

An emotioanlly choked Janhvi continued, "The minute she looked at me, she just stopped crying. She sat next to me and started comforting me. I have never seen her cry about it since."

Boney Kapoor's special message for his 'jaan'

Right at midnight, when the clock struck 12, the filmmaker took to Instagram and shared a sweet birthday note for his ladylove. Boney shared a painted picture of his late wife and wrote, "Happy birthday, my Jaan," followed by hug and kiss emoticons.


As soon as the post went up, fans flooded the comments with their lovely wishes for Sridevi. One comment read, "Happy birthday, Hawa Hawai we miss you." Another user wrote, "Chitti na koi sandesh jaane wo kaunsa desh jaha tum chale gaye, miss you, ma'am."

Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018.
