PM Narendra Modi Watches The Sabarmati Report In Parliament, Commends Makers

Some movies create history while others leave a long-lasting effect on us. One of such movies is The Sabarmati Report, a film based on the real-life ghastly incident of the Godhra train burning, which occurred on the morning of February 27, 2002.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was the then CM of Gujarat, sat down with his fellow MPs in the parliament to watch The Sabarmati Report. He was joined by the cast and crew of the film.
Other ministers like Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and Jitan Ram Manjhi, a BJP ally, were also seen in attendance. After watching the movie, the PM took to social media and shared his thoughts on the same.

Some audience members also included veteran actor Jeetendra and actress Raashii Khanna, who had a vital role to play in the film. The film claims to reveal the truth about the Sabarmati Express fire incident at Godhra on February 27, 2002, killing 59 devotees returning from Ayodhya after participating in a religious ceremony.

Vikrant Massey, who plays the lead protagonist in the film, said it was a different experience watching the film with some of the best leaders of the country, including the prime minister.
He also shared that having the PM of India watch his movie has been the highest point of his career. He further urged people to go and watch the film.
Prime Minister Modi took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared his thoughts about the film. He wrote, "Joined fellow NDA MPs at a screening of 'The Sabarmati Report.' I commend the makers of the film for their effort."

The 2024 release sheds light on the ghastly events of the Godhra train burning incident, where over 59 Hindu devotees were killed and burnt to death by the opposing community.The film stars Ridhi Dogra, Vikrant Massey, and Raashii Khanna in leading roles. The makers have also shown real-life, heart-wrenching clips from the incident that occurred over two decades ago.
The Sabarmati Report has collected around 28.8 crore in 18 days. It continues to see a successful theatrical run.
