Prabhas Opens Up On Working With Deepika Padukone In Kalki 2898 AD, Reveals More About Her Character

Prabhas and Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD became India's first ever movie to be showcased at the San Diego Comic-Con Festival. The film, originally titled Project K, unveiled its entire name and trailer at SDCC. It received a great response from the audience. In a recent interview, Prabhas opened up about working with his co-star, Deepika Padukone.

Project K brings together a stellar ensemble from different parts of Indian cinema. The upcoming movie stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani in prominent roles.


The Adipurush actor opened up about his experience working with Deepika and also called her a global superstar. Did you know Prabhas always wanted to work with the Pathaan actress? Well, who wouldn't?

"She's the biggest superstar, the most beautiful lady, and she's already famous globally. I think she's doing Louis Vuitton, TAM AdEX, and the biggest international commercials. So, she's just vibrant when she comes into the set, and I always loved her. I wanted to work with her this is the first time I'm working with her, so yeah," said Prabhas.

Deepika Padukone's character in Kalki 2898 AD

The director of Kalki 2898 AD, Nag Ashwin, gave a gist of Deepika's role in the upcoming sci-fi release. He said, "We still have to see Deepika's character fully, and then we will probably understand the reason why we cast her. Because it is an important character."


Deepika Padukone plays the protagonist in Kalki 2898 AD, while Kamal Haasan essays the role of a menacing villain. Prabhas will be seen portraying the Kalki avatar.

About Project K

The Nag Aswin directorial gives us a futuristic vision as it is all set to enter untapped territory. The movie is an amalgamation of Indian mythological tales and science fiction. Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Prabhas are shown in a warrior-like situation.

The pan-Indian film is being made on a whopping budget of 500 crore. Kalki 2898 AD will release on January 12, 2024, in cinemas near you.
