Priyanka Chopra has been making headlines ever since she was vocal about how Bollywood treated her. On a recent podcast with Dax Shephard, the actress opened up about why she left Bollywood and moved to Hollywood. Currently, Priyanka is busy promoting her upcoming series Citadel and in a recent interview, she opened up on why she spoke about being cornered in Bollywood after years.

In a recent international podcast, Priyanka Chopra broke the silence on how some people cornered her in Bollywood, which eventually led to her exit from the same. While many names were assumed and presumed, the actress did not name any names. This caught everyone's attention, especially back home in Mumbai.

Priyanka Chopra on why she chose to break the silence about her Bollywood journey

The actress who is busy promoting her upcoming spy-thriller series Citadel is in Mumbai for the same. After making stunning appearances at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) with her husband Nick Jonas, PeeCee started attending press conferences to promote Citadel. In a recent media interaction, Priyanka was asked why she chose to break the silence and reveal the brutal truth about Bollywood after so many years.

Responding to the same, Priyanka said, "On that podcast, I was asked about the journey of my life. I was talking about the truth of my journey and I think now I was confident enough to talk about that phase of my life. I think now, where I am, I was okay enough to articulate what I felt."

She further added, "I had a very tumultuous relationship with what occurred but I forgave, I moved on a long time ago and then I made my peace with it. I think that's why it was easy for me to talk about it in an open manner."

After Priyanka Chopra's podcast went viral on the internet, her Fashion co-star came out in support of her. While PeeCee didn't name any names on the podcast, Kangana Ranaut blamed Karan Johar for cornering Priyanka.

Taking it to Twitter, Kangana wrote, "Bolly kids grow up being obsessed with talent, their parents applaud their every word /move and they too start to believe that lie, until a gifted person shows up, smacking them right in their faces and raising the bar high, it challenges everything they ever believed."

On The Work Front

Priyanka Choprawill be seen next in Russo Brothers' Citadel alongside Hollywood actor Richard Madden. She also has Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zaraa - an all-women headlined movie based on travel and adventure. She will be sharing the screen with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in the same.

As for Karan Johar, he will make his directorial comeback with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani. The romantic comedy stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in titular roles.
