The wait is finally over for fans of the delightful Panchayat. The trailer for the much-anticipated season 3 has arrived, transporting viewers back to the charming village of Phulera. While season one introduced us to the now-iconic "Gazab Beizzati Hai" dialogue by Ganesh, played by Asif Khan, season 3 promises a fresh wave of witty exchanges that perfectly capture the essence of small-town life and, of course, local politics. The series will be available to stream on Amazon Prime starting 28 May.

Abhishek faces new challenges in Panchayat season 3

Jitendra Kumar returns as Abhishek Tripathi, the young engineering graduate stuck as the Phulera Panchayat's secretary. This season, however, throws him a curveballmdasha new "Sachiv" arrives, replacing him in his familiar role. The trailer hints at the challenges Abhishek will face navigating Phulera's political landscape, which he describes as "faltu ka local politics" (pointless local politics).

Adding fuel to the fire are the upcoming panchayat elections. The trailer offers glimpses of a "fierce battle" between the camps of Manju Devi (Neena Gupta), the fiery "Pradhan" (village head), and her husband Brij Bhushan Dubey (Raghubir Yadav), both determined to boost their public image.

Caught in the middle, Abhishek seems determined to remain objective, as the season's synopsis suggests: "Navigating the murky waters of Phulera politics, Abhishek does his best to maintain his objectivity."

But with elections looming, objectivity might be a luxury Abhishek can't afford. The trailer features some intriguing dialogues that hint at the comedic gold viewers can expect. Here are a few that caught our eye:

"Ab aage focus karna hai already adjust ho hi raha hoon. Faltu ka local politics hota hain usse door rehna hain bas."

(Now I need to focus I'm already getting adjusted. I just need to stay away from pointless local politics). This line reflects Abhishek's desire for normalcy, a stark contrast to the political storm brewing around him.

'Yeh alag hi fraud chal raha hain."

(This is a whole different kind of fraud.) It remains to be seen who Durgesh Kumar is referring to, but it piques our interest in the potential scams and scandals Phulera might be facing.

"Gaav ko aapke jaisa matlabi neta nahi..ek doordarshi neta chahiye."

(The village doesn't need a selfish leader like you it needs a visionary one.) Another line by Durgesh Kumar hints at the growing dissatisfaction with the current leadership and the yearning for positive change.

"Acha bhala resign kar raha tha faltu ka wapas aa gaya iss gaav mein."

(It would have been better if I had resigned why did I come back to this village?). This outburst hints at the challenges and frustrations Abhishek will face this season.

"Sabko neta banna hai naa toh chalo phir neta wala kaam karte hain."

(Everyone wants to be a leader, so let's do some leader-like work then.) This line suggests a potential mobilisation of the villagers to take matters into their own hands.

"Dekh raha hain Binod... Pradhan ji gussa dikha rahe hain."

(See Binod the Pradhan is getting angry.) Durgesh Kumar's character seems to be playing the role of an observer, pointing out Pradhan's anger with the line. This line adds a touch of humour while hinting at the underlying tensions simmering beneath the surface.
