A tweet by Filmmaker Ritesh Sidhwani of Farhan Akhtar's picture with a witty caption makes it clear that the film is apparently in the works, and there has been a lot of buzz about it over the last three years. And now it appears like the creators are planning an exciting update. Rumors are there that in Don 3, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan will most likely star in the film together along with Kajol.
Speculations about the project revived when Big B shared a throwback photo with Shah Rukh Khan. "And...err... continuing in the same vein... DON," the veteran actor captioned the photo he shared on Saturday. Fans feel nostalgic for Amitabh's post.
Amitabh had previously uploaded a white and black snapshot of a large crowd of fans with the caption, "Advance booking of my film DON...!" And they claimed... THEY claimed... that the lines were a mile long.... the film was released in 1978... 44 years ago!! AND these films were also released in the same year: DON, Kasme Vaade, Trishul, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Ganga Ki Saugandh.. 5 blockbusters in one year!! Kya din the wo bhi.'
Excel Entertainment is planning a sequel to Don (2006) and Don 2(2011) for the unversed. Farhan Akhtar is writing the screenplay. While the next installment's plot is being kept under wraps, the prospect of two Bollywood legends returning to the franchise is exciting.
On the work front, Amitabh will be next seen in Brahmastra alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt whereas Shah Rukh's upcoming projects are Pathaan, Dunki, and Atlee's Jawan.
