Will GOAT Star Thalapathy Vijay Continue Acting After Joining Politics?

The internet has been shaking and quaking ever since the makers of GOAT dropped its trailer. Thalapathy Vijay makes a solid comeback in a dual role, thus keeping fans and moviegoers waiting with baited breath.

GOAT brings Vijay, Prabhu Deva, and Venkat Prabhu together after years. The three have previously created amazing content and entertained audiences with their storytelling skills.

Speaking of brilliant performances, fans are excited to see Thapalathy Vijay playing both father and son in his upcoming action drama. However, the real question bothering everyone is: will the actor continue to work in films after joining politics?

Can Thalapathy Vijay balance both acting and politics?

During the trailer launch, the director of GOAT, Venkat Prabhu, was asked if the movie is loosely based on or influenced by Vijay's political career. He was also asked why the song Marudhamalai Maamaniye was not used in the Hindi and Telugu trailers.

To which Prabhu replied, "It is nothing to do with politics, but all to do with understanding popular culture. Ghilli is a pop culture phenomenon in Tamil cinema. It isn't the same in Hindi and Telugu cinema. So we used a portion of Vijay sir humming the Mission Impossible theme. Yes, Mission Impossible is a big thing in Tamil too, but Ghilli is bigger, right?"

When asked if Vijay gave his two cents as a politician while making GOAT, the filmmaker said, "Vijay sir has never done such things. He didn't want any lines to be written to further his political agenda. GOAT is a commercial film and not a political film. Of course, some dialogues in the trailer might allude to his political career. But when you see the film, you'll know how all of these actually fit in perfectly with the narrative. There are no political references in GOAT. Vijay sir sees a film as a film, and most importantly, he knows of my knowledge about politics. We never discuss politics at all."

Venkat Prabhu was also asked if the Beast actor plans to continue acting after joining politics the director gave a diplomatic yet hopeful response.

'Just like everyone here and scores of Vijay fans, I too want to see him in more films,' Venkat said, further adding, 'I asked him if he could balance both acting and politics, and he just smiled and said, 'We'll see.' It is always our dream to see him on the screen. But he, too, has a dream. An aspiration. And I think we should support it.'
