The new mommy in town Alia Bhatt opened up about Pathaan being a savior for a sinking Bollywood. Breaking the #BoycottBollywood trend, the Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham starrer shook the audience and disrupted every movie`s box office collection. This also includes the actress`s last release Brahmastra. Commenting on the same, Alia gave a positive nod saying she is proud to belong to this industry.
In her recent interaction during the Zee Cinema Awards press conference, Alia Bhatt was asked about Pathaan breaking her movie Brahmastra`s box office records, both in India and globally. To which, she gracefully replied, "Every film should break every film`s record. I am very happy with that."
While movies like Pathaan, Brahamstra, and Gangubai Kathiawadi were a classic response to shut the haters of Bollywood, Alia also threw some light on artists being termed as `aggressive` or `arrogant.` Responding to the negativity gathered around Bollywood actors, she said, "I don`t think we have so much aggression in us like that. We are very grateful to be working and living our dream on a day-to-day basis. And we believe that we belong to the audience and the audience can say whatever they want about us. As long as we are entertaining them we will do our very best."
Speaking about Pathaan and its massive worldwide success, the Brahmastra actress said she feels grateful to be a part of the Hindi film industry. "We feel very very happy as an industry that a film like Pathaan is not just a blockbuster but possibly the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema. I think everybody should definitely clap for that once. We feel grateful for moments like this and pray that yahi hota rahe (this should continue happening)," Alia added.
Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, the movie also stars Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles.
