Boney Kapoor Recalls Living In Raj Kapoor`s Servant Quarters: "My Father Was Thrown Out..."

When Boney Kapoor Lived In Raj Kapoor`s Quarters Reserved For Servants And Drivers
This year is filled with some blockbuster releases and entertaining content. There`s not a day when celebrities stay away from making shocking revelations or spilling interesting gossip. One such person who made headlines with an interesting reveal is Boney Kapoor.
The producer, who is currently busy promoting his recent release, Maidaan, spoke to many media houses and entertaining portals, where he gave a sneak peek into his personal life.
In a recent interview, Boney Kapoor recalled his early days and how his father, Surinder Kapoor, who was also a legendary film producer, started his journey in the industry.
Recalling the tough time, Boney revealed how the legendary actor Prithviraj Kapoor made a move to bring Surinder Kapoor to Mumbai. The Maidaan producer walked down memory lane and shared an emotional narrative about his father`s struggle.

Here`s a fun fact: Surinder had already lost ten odd jobs due to his advocacy for workers and their rights. This didn`t go down well with Boney Kapoor`s grandfather, which eventually caused the family to move to Mumbai.
“My father was brought to Bombay by Prithviraj Kapoor. My grandfather handed over my father to Prithviraj ji because he left about 10–12 jobs. He was left, in the sense that he was thrown out because he was siding with and supporting the workers and fighting for their causes,” Boney said.
Narrating a personal anecdote, the producer further revealed, “When my grandmother passed away, Anil and I decided that he would do the acting and I would take over the production. Somebody had to run the show at home as well. My father had a heart problem; we didn’t want to give him stress.”

He further delved into the tough times, recalling a specific incident where the director of one of his father`s films passed away in the middle of the production. That is when the financial challenges began for the Kapoor family.
“My father was in debt. We were in a sh**hole,” he recalled.
Despite the rough times and financial obstacles, Boney Kapoor has managed to carve out a rather successful career for himself. His latest release, Maidaan, is a testament to the same, as it continues to receive positive reviews.
