Within just a week of its release, Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva has already broken every box office collection globally. Director Ayan Mukerji took to Instagram sharing this week`s gross collection which turns out to be a whopping Rs. 300 crores across several countries. Emerging as the most trending Bollywood film, this also marks Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt`s first entry to the 300-crore club.
Taking it to Instagram, Ayan Mukerji excitedly shared the news. Captioning the post, "Week 2 Begins," the makers confirmed the mythology-fantasy to have broken several records. If the same response continues for a week or two, Brahmastra may break even more records, thus being called one of the biggest blockbusters of Bollywood.
After an 8-year long wait, Ayan Mukerji`s passion project released on September 9. Despite the cringe dialogues and questionable acting by Ranbir and Alia, the movie garnered immense love. The movie`s menacing villain Mouni Roy was highly praised for her breakthrough performance as Junoon. The mythology-fiction also featured Amitabh Bachchan, south superstar Nagarjuna, and Shah Rukh Khan in pivotal roles.
Though Deepika Padukone`s cameo was a blink and miss, it is believed that the actress will headline the second part of the fictional franchise titled Brahmastra Part 2: Dev. According to reports, she will share the screen with Ranveer Sing who is most likely to portray Dev`s character. The second part of the mythology trilogy will be releasing in late 2024.
