The long wait is finally over for thriller enthusiasts. This announcement has sent waves of excitement through the industry, promising a final, gripping chapter to the beloved franchise.
In an interesting and unprecedented move, the Hindi version of Drishyam 3, starring Ajay Devgn, is also slated to begin filming around the same time. Reports indicate that the Hindi production will kick off on October 2, 2025. A source revealed, "The Gandhi Jayanti date holds a lot of significance for the Drishyam franchise, and hence they are embarking on the journey for the final Drishyam film from October 2, 2025."

The makers are also aiming for a simultaneous release. "There was a request from their side for a simultaneous release," Joseph said, referring to the Hindi and Telugu production teams. "In this OTT age, they feel that releasing on different dates might reduce the film`s impact in the other languages." While a parallel shoot might be challenging due to actors` schedules, a synchronised release for the Malayalam, Hindi (with Ajay Devgn), and Telugu (with Venkatesh) versions is being seriously discussed.
Acknowledging the immense pressure that comes with a successful franchise, Mohanlal had earlier stated in an interview that the stakes are incredibly high. However, he assured fans that the Drishyam 3 team is dedicated to bringing something fresh and compelling to the audience with this concluding installment.
