Kritika Kamra Opens Up On Gaurav Kapur`s Emotional Reaction At Their Wedding

Kritika Kamra is on the ninth cloud as she enters a new phase in both her personal and professional lives. With the success of her recent series, Matka King, the actress is fresh off tying the knot with Gaurav Kapur.
The couple had an intimate wedding at their Mumbai home with only close friends and family in attendance. Kritika and Gaurav tied the knot on March 11, 2026, and took the internet by storm.
Their wedding pictures exuded all things love, laughter, and forever-ever after. In one of the videos, the sports presenter could be seen having an emotional breakdown after seeing his bride walk down the aisle.
The Matka King actress opened up about his reaction and said she was rather surprised seeing his vulnerable side.

One moment that stood out for her was the groom`s visible emotional reaction seeing the bride in her best dress, walking towards him.

Talking about the same, Kamra said, “I was in disbelief. I did not expect that at all. I’ve never seen him like that, that vulnerable. I’ve seen him vulnerable, but I didn’t think he would be that way. I was getting ready inside. I was absolutely unaware of what was happening outside. I came out to see this guy, just so emotional, with tears in everybody’s eyes when I walked into the room. I was just in disbelief.”

She also spoke about their decision to get married in Mumbai and why having an intimate ceremony at their residence was a rather personal decision for the couple.
“Both of us started working very young and left our hometowns, and we made a life in Mumbai, so we wanted to get married only here,” the actress said.
Kritika Kamra further added, “We didn’t want a destination wedding. We wanted to do it at home. Luckily, we had space for people. That itself is a big deal in this city. This is where we found ourselves. We found each other. So it’s just it was perfect.”
Kritika Kamra on marrying at 37
The Gyaarah Gyaarah actress tied the knot with the sports presenter when she was 37, a choice that is a contrast to the timeline many of her peers followed.
Reflecting on her choice to get married in her late 30s, Kritika believes it is better to marry late than to be with the wrong person.
"I’ve recently got married, while most of my friends got married, maybe 15 years back, because they felt that pressure, but I did not have that in my life. In that sense, I’ve been lucky to have parents who never stopped me from doing anything right,” she shared.
For her, the experience of being married hasn`t entirely altered who she authentically is.
She explained, “I feel the same so far. Sometimes I have to wake up and remind myself I have a husband now. It feels the same. And that’s how it should be. One of the things about marrying late in life is that you’re very sure when you do it, and you do it your way. All my decisions are independent. So is the case with Gaurav.”
