In an interview, Ram Charan opened up about why he never starred in any Bollywood movie after working with Priyanka Chopra in Zanjeer. A remake of Amitabh Bachchan`s 1973 release Zanjeer was released by the same name in Hindi and Telugu languages. However, the movie was titled Thoofan for its Telugu release.
He further added, “RRR is very much a Hindi film as it is a Telugu film, it is a pan-India film. Today, thanks to efforts by a lot of filmmakers, especially Rajamouli, the gates of this industry have opened. We have stopped being regional and we have become a part of one big Indian film industry, the barriers are broken. So, as and when an opportunity comes, why not, I will do any film. The scale of RRR, and how many languages the film will release in will break all barriers. It is all about the excitement.”
The interview dates back to the pre-release era of RRR, a movie that was appreciated and applauded globally. So much so, that it ended up winning an Oscar in The Academy Awards 2023 for Best Original Song.
