The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2024 press conference recently took an entertaining turn when Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan decided to show off his witty side. In a light-hearted interaction, SRK took the opportunity to tease his long-time friend and co-host, Karan Johar, much to the amusement of the audience. The moment not only added excitement to the upcoming IIFA event but also highlighted the close bond between the two iconic figures.
In his typical cheeky style, Shah Rukh remarked, “Karan told me he won’t be rehearsing for hosting; he’ll do it on Zoom. He said, ‘Bhai, main Zoom pe kar lunga… main itna jaldi karta hu. Main toh itna hosting karta hu na.’ Chat show bhi host karta hai, film show bhi host karta hai… Picture bhi toh bana, mere bhai, tu.”
The comment had the entire audience in stitches as Shah Rukh continued his banter by adding, “Kitna host karega tu?” (How much more will you host?) The playful exchange underscored their strong friendship and camaraderie, with the audience clearly enjoying the back-and-forth.

Karan Johar, who is used to SRK’s humour, took the teasing in stride and responded with a smile. He light-heartedly acknowledged the criticism, saying, “Siddhant Chaturvedi said the same thing, and I was like, this is sounding so wrong on all levels for a filmmaker. I should be making more movies.” This clever comeback from Karan added to the humorous atmosphere of the press conference.
Siddhant Chaturvedi, who will soon appear in the action-packed film Yudhra, earlier made a similar comment to Karan, joking about his hosting duties. Interestingly, Siddhant will also be hosting the IIFA Rocks event this year, alongside Abhishek Banerjee, best known for his role in Stree 2.
