Silambarasan to be a Part of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam`s Thug Life
Thug Life is one of the most anticipated South Indian films this year. The film stars Kamal Haasan in the lead, and it is being directed by Mani Ratnam. In a recent update, Silambarasan, also known as Simbu, has joined the cast of Thug Life as Kamal Haasan’s son. The big announcement was made through a poster release of Simbu in action with the caption, “In the Realms of Dust, a New Thug Arises! STR.”
Silambarasan can be seen with long hair and glasses in the poster. He will reportedly play Kamal Haasan’s son in the film, while Ulaganayagan himself will play a triple role. This will mark the second collaboration between Mani Ratnam and Simbu; their previous one was Chekka Sivantha Vaanam. The lead actors will reportedly play gangsters in Thug Life. The makers also released a video that features Silambarasan escaping the Border Patrol in their vehicle in the deserts of Rajasthan.
`Thug Life` will reunite the legendary artist and filmmaker after almost three decades. Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam previously collaborated on the 1987 film `Nayakan`, which was also nominated for an Oscar that year. This film earned Haasan an Indian National Film Award for Best Actor. The upcoming movie is directed by the `Ponniyin Selvan` director and jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies. Currently, the shooting for the film is underway in Delhi.
