Kavita Chaudhary Who Played Kalyani Singh In Udaan Passed Away At 67
With all the good news going around, we come bearing some heartbreaking news. Kavita Chaudhary, who played Kalyani Singh in the 1989 Udaan, passed away after suffering from a cardiac arrest. She was 67. One can even remember her from the iconic Surf ads.
On Thursday, February 15, Kavita Chaudhary breathed her last at Parvati Devi Hospital in Amritsar. She had been suffering from cancer for a long time. She was one of the first actors to play a female police officer in Udaan.
Taking it to Instagram, Suchitra shared a picture with Kavita and penned down a rather emotional note.
Her caption read, "My heart feels heavy as I share this news with you all. Last night, we lost a beacon of strength, inspiration, and grace—Kaveta Chaudhary. For those who grew up in the 70s and 80s, she was the face of the Udaan series on DD and the iconic `Surf` commercial, but to me, she was much more than that."
"In her memory, I leave you with a quote that encapsulates the essence of this remarkable woman: "Her light may have dimmed on earth, but her spirit shines bright in the heavens above." Farewell, dear Kaveta ma`am. You will forever live on in our hearts. #RIPKavetaChaudhary (sic)," she concluded.
Suchitra Verma even gave an official statement to India Today and said, "I feel miserable to have lost her and never gotten a chance to meet her. I never knew her condition would deteriorate so suddenly."
Kavita even appeared in TV shows like Apradhi Kaun!, Your Honour, and IPS Diaries. She was also the famous face of Surf detergent commercials in India.
On the personal front, she was the younger sister of police officer Kanchan Chaudhary Bhattacharya. Kavita was engaged to Karan Razdan in the 1980s but has always preferred to keep her private life away from the media.
