Zoya Akhtar Speaks Up Positively about ZNMD Sequel

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is a film that came out in 2011 and instantly became a classic, making its place in the hearts of people. It told the coming-of-age story of three friends and how their dynamics with each other interspersed together in the story. ZNMD was directed by Zoya Akhtar and starred Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif, and Kalki Koechlin.
The question of ZNMD`s sequel has been asked by fans over the years. Recently, Farhan Akhtar dropped a hint of the sequel happening by making an Instagram post where all the actors and Zoya Akhtar commented, adding to the mystery further.
Zoya Akhtar has cleared the air somewhat and shared the possibility of the sequel happening. She said, "Yes, this question comes up all the time, and everybody is interested."

Further, she added, "That movie meant a lot to us. So, if we find that soul for part two, we will make it. We don`t want to do it just for money. When the audience comes to watch the second part, they will have a certain expectation, and we must give it to them; otherwise, they won`t be happy."
Giving some hope about the sequel, Zoya Akhtar said that there is a possibility of the film happening. In an old interview, she said, "Yes, if I find a story that is more than the fact that it is a franchise capitalizing on, and if it`s a real story that needs to be told, I will definitely."
ZNMD is a film that is watched by fans over and over. It had attained cult status over the years. Many of the film`s scenes and dialogues have become memorable, and it was the first time that Bollywood gave everyone major travel goals as the entire film was based on a travel journey to Spain. However, what made the film truly brilliant was the complex inter-personal dynamics that were explored beautifully with mature writing by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.
It remains to be seen when the sequel comes about. Meanwhile, Zoya Akhtar is gearing up for the release of her ambitious Netflix film The Archies, which marks the debut of Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agatsya Nanda. The film is scheduled to release exclusively on Netflix on December 7.
