Farzi Review: The Plot
Sunny (Shahid Kapoor) is an artist who starts the unlawful business of designing and printing counterfeit notes with the intention to save his grandfather’s dying printing press. But before he realizes it, he is too deep into the dirt and his one-time crime becomes a growing chain.
What Worked
“Farzi” uses really strong characters to tell an unpredictable story. A constant event of unpredictability and thrill keeps the audience hooked. Shahid Kapoor’s performance as a ‘bad boy with a good heart” aces the show. The actor effortlessly gets into the skin of his character and makes it a total paisa vasool affair. Viajy Sethupathi in an iconic style portrays the passionate officer Michael, who never follows the rulebook. The clash of the two big stars and their strong characters gives a powerful dose of excitement and thrill.
Kay Kay Menon nails the character of the fake note kingpin Mansoor. Bhuvan Arora’s performance feels like a surprise package, as he will surely make you fall for his character Firoz (Sunny’s best friend). Raashi Khanna’s outstanding performance as Megha will impress you.
What Went Downhill
Despite having a realistic tone, the show uses a lot of cinematic conveniences that feel quite unbelievable. The web series is dangerously detailed and might create a big issue if the information gets used by criminals.
Our Farzi Review
Farzi is a thriller packed with everything that the genre demands. Shahid Kapoor and Viajy Sethupathi’s outstanding performances will win your heart. While there are some drawbacks in the Raj and DK`s series, we would definitely recommend to add it to your binge-watch list. What are your views on Farzi? Do you agree with our review?
