Yash Raj Films (YRF) known for its blockbuster action franchise, has unveiled the title and first teaser for its first-ever female-led spy thriller. The studio is gearing up to rewrite the rules of the spy game with their highly anticipated film, "Alpha." Headlined by Bollywood superstars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, "Alpha" promises to be a paradigm shift within the YRF spy universe, traditionally dominated by male protagonists.



This move signifies a bold step by YRF. 'This is a clear take by YRF to highlight a societal misinterpretation that only men can be Alphas,' a source close to the studio revealed. Helmed by director Shiv Rawail, who impressed audiences with his directorial debut in the Netflix series "The Railway Men" (2023), "Alpha" is poised to be a high-octane adventure.

This is a strategic move by YRF's head honcho, Aditya Chopra. 'Aditya Chopra and the team have planned an epic female-led spy film with Alia Bhatt, which is expected to push her to the edge,' a source familiar with the project stated. 'Alia's inclusion in the Spy Universe indicates that Aditya Chopra is leaving no audience segment out of the equation. She will be playing a spy in an out-and-out action entertainer, and this will be a big novelty for the audience base that she appeals to. It's going to be Alia Bhatt like never before.'

Industry insiders reveal that Chopra envisions a long-term future for Bhatt's character within the YRF spy universe, potentially even launching a standalone franchise centred around her.
