Kannada Actor Pavithra Jayaram Dies In A Road Accident, Family Members Injured

With many wonderful things going on in the South Indian film industry, we come bearing sad news. Popular Kannada actor and television star Pavithra Jayaram died in a brutal car accident on Sunday, May 12. She was on her way from Bengaluru to Hyderabad with her cousin when a bus collided with her car.

The actress who essayed the role of Thillotama in the popular Telugu serial Trinayani met with an accident in the Mahbubnagar district of Telangana. Pavithra Jayaram died on the spot in Divitipally, in the Mahbubnagar district, while she was returning from Bengaluru to Hyderabad on Sunday.

For the uninitiated, Jayaram was a celebrated actress down south and has done some incredible work in Kannada movies and Telugu TV serials. She became a household name with her character, Thillotama.

Pavithra Jayaram's death details

It was on May 12 that the actress was returning from Bengaluru to Hyderabad when her car lost control and hit a divider. Later, it collided with a bus, thus resulting in her unfortunate death.

The Bhootpur police issued a statement and revealed, "She died in a road accident last night at 1 a.m. at Divitipally in Mahbubnagar district. She was traveling from Bengaluru to Hyderabad."

Pavithra was accompanied by her cousin and a driver. While the Ninne Pelladatha actor succumbed to death, her cousin and the driver suffered serious injuries. The two are admitted to the hospital, where they are recovering.

The incident has shocked the entire Kannada and Telugu film industry, leaving her fans and co-stars in sorrow. Actor Sameeip Acharyaa mourned Pavithra's sudden demise and shared a statement on social media.

Taking it to Instagram stories, Acharyaa wrote, "Woke up to the news that you are no more. It's unbelievable. My first on-screen mother, you will always be the special one."

Who was Pavithra Jayaram?

The actor started her acting career with the 2012 Kannada TV serial, Jokali. In 2018, she made her Telugu TV debut with the popular serial Ninne Pelladatha.

It was with the TV series Trinayani that Pavithra Jayaram became a household name. Her character, Thillotama, was widely loved by all fans and viewers. Apart from Kannada and Telugu, the late actress has worked in several other languages as well.


In 2020, she featured in the Telugu period drama Buchinaidu Kandriga. She has time and again won hearts with her incredible performances on television.
