Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt has broken several records to become one of the highest grossing Bollywood movies across the globe. With success comes several unwarranted conjectures. Apart from its iconic star cast, the much awaited movie was in discussion because of its whopping budget. While the makers say the movie took a total of Rs.410 crores to become the first 'Astraverse' trilogy, Kangana Ranaut, who gave a controversial statement on the same, stated the actual budget was around Rs. 650 crores.

The lead actor Ranbir Kapoor finally broke his silence on the fast-spreading rumors and commented on Brahmastra's budget. Without revealing the actual figures, he said, 'These days, we are reading a lot where people are discussing the budget of the film. People are saying this much is the budget and this much is the recovery. But Brahmastrais unique being where the budget is not just for one film but for the whole trilogy.'

'So, the assets we have created for the film, like the fire VFX or effects for other superpowers, they will be used in three films. So, it's not like the figures floating around, whether it's hundred rupees or two hundred rupees, are correct. It's all wrong. The economics of this film is not like the economics of other films that have been made in our industry. Now, we can easily go into parts 2 and part 3. With part 1, Ayan had to learn how to make this kind of a film,' the actor further added.

One of Bollywood's first mythology-thriller, Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva released in theatres across several countries on September 9. Despite eceiving a mixed response, the Ayan Mukerji directorial has collected over Rs.300 crores in just two weeks of its release. Releasing in five Indian languages, the movie also stars amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Shah Rukh Khan in pivotal roles.
