Aashiqui 3 Postponed After Triptii Dimri Reportedly Dropped Out of The Film

The highly anticipated third installment of the Aashiqui franchise, announced last year by filmmaker Anurag Basu, seems to have hit a major roadblock. Starring Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri, the film has created a buzz since its announcement. However, recent reports suggest that Aashiqui 3 has been put on hold indefinitely, sparking speculation about what went wrong.
According to the source, “The fundamental requirement to be the heroine of Aashiqui 3 is innocence reflecting through, and as observed by the team behind the film, Triptii Dimri with her recent films has become too exposed to be cast in this romantic film, which demands purity in demeanour from the female lead. Aashiqui is a legendary, soulful love story, and the makers do not see Tripti fitting the parameters.”
The source further added, “After Animal, there has been no buzz around her. More so, her solo standing at the box office hasn`t proven profitable with her recent films.” Despite these claims, official confirmation from the production team is still awaited.
With Triptii Dimri reportedly out of the picture, the makers are now on the hunt for a new face who can embody the essence of Aashiqui’s romantic and soulful narrative. Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan and Anurag Basu are said to be focusing on a new romantic saga, expected to go into production later this month or in early February.
Triptii Dimri’s acting prowess was showcased in earlier films like Laila Majnu, Bulbbul, and Qala, earning her a reputation as a skilled actor. However, it was her role in 2023’s blockbuster Animal that truly catapulted her into the limelight. Following its success, she worked on films like Bad Newz and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, though these did not perform as well at the box office.
